The Society for The Prevention & Cure of Blindness was founded in 1960 by Late Haji Hasan Ali P. Ebrahim, a philanthropist with a love for mankind and a deep sense of concern for the underprivileged in our society, especially the blind and the near blind. The founder devoted the next 20 years of his life to this noble cause.

Our Aims & Objectives
Prevention
We publish literature and distribute it free to create awareness about eye diseases, prevention, treatment, etc. We also train school teachers, social workers and others as the first line of defence to raise consciousness of matters related to eye care.
Cure
We organize free camps in villages and small towns thus taking the cure to the doorsteps of our poor and needy and making all requisite arrangements for treatment including Operation Theatres, Surgical Instruments, Medicines, Spectacles, etc.

Blindness in Pakistan
The problem of blindness is widespread throughout Pakistan. An estimated amount of 2.5 million people are either blind or near blind and unfortunately, the rate of blindness is increases per year.
