APWA SHIRIN BANO Eye Hospital
The founder established this 60 bed hospital in 1971 in memory of his beloved wife. This fully equipped and professionally staffed hospital is managed by the Society on a 'No Profit, No Loss' basis. It caters to the eye care needs of all, especially the poor and needy of Karachi and surrounding areas. About SPCB
The Society For The Prevention & Cure of Blindness was founded in 1960 by Late Haji Hasan Ali P. Ebrahim, a philanthropist with a love for mankind and a deep sense of concern for the underprivileged in our society, especially the blind and the near blind. The founder devoted the next 20 years of his life to this noble cause.
Today, we are inspired by our founding father's pioneering efforts and continue to relentlessly pursue the war against blindness by providing much needed medico-surgery eye care to our poor and needy throughout the four provinces of Pakistan with our free eye camps and the APWA Shirin Bano Eye Hospital, Karachi. By the grace of God, in the past years, we have been successful in treating over 8 million people for various eye diseases through OPD and Cataract Surgeries.
